The airline refuses automated requests. Commercial approval alone would not change that.
United MileagePlus was surveyed on 20 August 2026 and its booking path did not answer an ordinary request. It sits behind Akamai Bot Manager, the same control we met on American, and the techniques that get past it are ones we have ruled out.
We are saying that rather than calling it a backlog item, because "on our backlog" implies a queue we are working through, and this is not waiting on our effort. It is waiting on United.
No MileagePlus availability appears in results. If you search a route United serves, the absence of a United option means only that we did not look — not that no award seat exists.
